A Call for Urgent Rehabilitation, Renovation & Refurbishment of Community Secondary Schools in Nando & Umuoba Anam communities in Anambra East by Anambra Lawmakers.
The State House of Assembly has called on Governor Willie Obiano to direct the Executive Chairman, Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board (ANSUBEB) as a matter of urgency to rehabilitate, renovate & refurbish Community Secondary School Nando & Community Secondary School Umuoba Anam respectively, both in Anambra East Local Government Area.
In a motion sponsored by the member representing the good people of Anambra East Constituency, Hon. Pharm. Obinna Emeneka, noted that quality & sound education remains a huge contributing factor towards societal growth.
The lawmaker worried about the enormous infrastructural decay currently witnessed by the two aforementioned schools has regrettably led to almost total collapse of academic activities in both secondary schools.
Worried by the absence of roofing sheets, windows, doors, perimeter fences, computer & E-learning centres, functional science laboratories, well equipped libraries among others are some of the physical defects rendering the two schools unconducive for learning.
Hon. Emeneka who maintained that the Willie Obiano administration is fully committed to providing qualitative education to Ndi Anambra, as education is one of the enabling pillars surppoting the cardinal objectives of the present administration.
