Anambra North: Sen Oduah May Lose Seat to Sen Okadigbo.

Information reaching us reveals that Sen Stella Oduah who is the present senator representing Anambra North in the senate may lose her seat as the preelection matter between Sen Stella Oduah and Sen Margery Okadigbo gets to supreme court.

The 2015 preelection case that started after PDP primary elections was conducted,  as the both claim winners to the said primary election of which  PDP leadership at that time recognised Sen Stella Oduah pending the determination of all issues.

Sen Margery Okadigbo approached the Federal high court Abuja in a bid to reclaim her mandate of which Sen Stella Oduah opposed to through her lawyers and the federal high court ruled that the court have no jurisdiction to entertain the matter. Hence the matter was struck out.

Sen Okadigbo went on to appeal the matter, of which the appellate court upholded  the decision of the high court and struck the matter out again.

Sen Margery Okadigbo, a professional lawyer and widow of the late Igbo Icon Sen Chuba Okadigbo who wasn't satisfied with the decision of both courts decided to go further to the supreme court of Nigeria in pursuance of her fundamental rights and challenged the decision of the lower court.

The Supreme Court of Nigeria ruled on the case of jurisdiction of the court to entertain the said matter. The supreme court stated that the court have every right to entertain the matter and due to want of time, the supreme court is to hence forth assume the jurisdiction to hear the matter and give judgment on the said matter within time.

So as it is now, supreme court of Nigeria is now hearing the matter instead of sending them back to High court and will give an outright judgment on the matter.

The case is getting more interesting and revealing as the PDP leadership who ought to be supporting Sen Oduah might no longer do that as the news of Oduah's decamping to APGA is now very obvious.

This matter is the only thing delaying Sen Oduah's decamping to APGA as she fears she will lose the case once she officially leaves the PDP for APGA and the PDP leadership especially in the state is of the knowledge of how Sen Oduah betrayed the PDP during the last governorship election in the state and her plot to leave the party for another. Also  her abandonment of  party faithfuls who worked for her victory and choose to empower selected APGA members who she intend to work with again in the last empowerment program she did.

Final submissions of all parties in the matter and possible judgment comes up on 7th of march 2018.

Let's watch as event unfold.
