Hon Tony Nwoye seeks free medical care for pregnant women.

Pregnant women in Nigeria and Anambra in particular will  soon be exempted from paying medical bills in government hospitals if a Bill for an Act to authorize the provision of free pre-natal and post natal health services complete its journey in the National Assembly.

The Bill seeks to also protect children who are abandoned in the hospital by their parents and will ensure social packages for them.

The bill which was sponsored Dr. Tony Nwoye in April 2017 on the floor of the House of Representatives explained that some pregnant women cannot even afford the cheapest drug in hospital which sometimes result to the death of mother and their child.

According to him, the Bill seeks to protect the right of Nigerian women who are pregnant in any government hospitals.

“Let’s save lives of women who are pregnant, infant and the elderly persons”, he said.

The Bill was therefore passed for second reading after a voice vote was requested by the Speaker of the House of representatives, Yakubu Dogara.

With this bill Nigeria pregnant women and children will receive free medical care and as a governor of Anambra state, Anambra women will enjoy the full implementation of the bill in both state and local government owned hospitals and health centers.

Vote for Dr. Tony Nwoye for the realisation and achievement of the free  health bill and project in Anambra state.
