Anambra 2017: Can A Cultist Fight Cultism? - Dr Tony Nwoye and the Tales Of Blackmailers.

-Sixtus Obadigbo.

There is a popular saying that, if you want to kill a dog, you must give it a bad name to see reasons for your actions. This is exactly what Dr Tony Nwoye is suffering from the hands of mischief makers who are bent on damaging his good reputation.

These are some of the things someone destined to be great in life must experience towards the journey of attaining that greater height, in the making of his career and while climbing his ladder of success. Despite all these pull him down falsehood, Dr Tony Nwoye’s popularity is still towering every now and then.

It is on record that major accolades won by Dr Tony Nwoye during his time as students leader were as a result of his feat in fighting cultism in Nigeria institutions. He was decorated by notable personalities who for his good work.

If Dr Tony Nwoye is a cultist like some people are saying, he would not have received awards from the then Vice Chancellor of the University of Nigeria Nsukka, Prof Ginigeme Mbanefo, IGP Ricky Tafa Balogun and Senator George Akume, former Governor of Benue state. All the awards he received from these notable personalities are because of his fight against cultism in higher institutions in Nigeria.

The records of Dr Tony Nwoye’s work at the university are still there for those who have no idea. Even those who like twisting history should also consult the university for clarification. So many of us believe in hearsay without seeing any evidence of what they want to believe.

We should know that one cannot contest any elective post in UNN, without undergoing  screening and other background check from the school security department and other relevant agencies in the university for anyone who wishes to know the true story and not the garbage the public is been fed by the same mischievous people.

We should also understand that truth is bitter, while falsehood is always sweet and it is very difficult for people to spend their money and time on anything that is bitter over the sweet ones. This is the reason the public is busy buying the sweet falsehood against Dr Tony Nwoye and swallowing them hook and line, leaving the bitter truth which is the real story about him.

A cultist cannot fight cult activities he’s part and parcel of, this is the truth. Many had wanted him to steer clear of fighting the cult activities and focused on fighting federal government to address the needs and welfare of the students. But he cannot watch people lose their lives, properties and many dropping out of school, because cult activities were rampant in many schools. So he needs to fight as a students leader and he fought them with the help of security agencies and not by his own power.
