Born a twin in Onitsha, on 13th September 1974 to Chief Lawrence and Mrs. Christiana Nwoye of Offianta Nsugbe in Anambra East L.G.A of Anambra state, Dr Tony Nwoye is an enigma. He has been tagged a lot of things.
To some, Dr Nwoye is a great man moulded in the likeness of legends.
To some, he is a grassroots mobilizer of men.
To some, he is a philanthropist,
To some, he is the greatest student leader who ever lived
and to some he is one of the bad guys.
But, behold ndi Anambra, this is Okechukwu Nwoye; born, bred and raised amongst us, a common man with an extra ordinary reach, a visionary leader that places the interest of the masses above his personal interest.
He is fair-minded and sensitive to the feelings, values, interests, and well-being of others, a leader who never discriminates on the bases of education, background status, your originality or your denominational.
Umu Anambra, let’s celebrate the born activist, a grass-root mobiliser, a consensus builder and a very consummate political strategist with an unquenchable love for his people and burning desire to improve the lives of the down-trodden even at the risk of his personal and political interests.
Dr Nwoye is a pride to Anambra state and Nigeria. He is one with extra-ordinary flames of passion for the development of the state, he is forward-looking with set goals and clear vision of the future. A vision owned collectively and envisioned on the principles of picking our priorities stemming from the basic values.
Let us arise for the 43years old bold and courageous Tony with inbuilt perseverance to accomplish a goal, regardless of the seemingly insurmountable obstacles.
