Anambra Guber: APC commends aspirants for accepting defeat, hail Nwoye, guber candidate
Our great party once again congratulates Hon Dr. Tony Nwoye on his emergence as APC flag bearer for the 2017 Anambra State gubernatorial race in one of the freest, fairest and most transparent primaries ever conducted in Nigeria.
We note that history beckons on Nwoye, who holds the potential to become Anambra’s youngest governor of all times having won his primaries on merit, garnering votes across all three zones to take APC to return a resounding victory with spread in every local government and take Anambra State to an economic break-even point.
We look forward to a Governor Nwoye from next year pointing the way on the conduct of local government elections to halt the graft of the sitting APGA Government, currently unable to account for roughly N90bn belonging to the 21 Local Governments (LGSs) in Anambra State, restoring the opportunity for youth in the state to be gainfully employed and to grow politically.
We trust that the future Gov Tony Nwoye will create a nexus with the federal government –executive and legislature-to open up the sea and air ports into the state while restoring the academic glory that has been lost to ‘ikwokilikwo’ lie of easy virtue.
We commend the other 11 aspirants of our great party for graciously accepting Hon Dr Nwoye as candidate congratulating him and closing ranks to achieve the much-desired victory in the November 18 polls.
We however wish to put Gov Willie Obiano, who ought to have completed his handover notes by now,on notice that his latest nocturnal move to one of the erstwhile aspirants in the APC to motivate him into anti-party action, has become the subject of motion picture review in the top echelon o our great party, and that his perfidy has led him to fail one the simplest tests of political sagacity.
Consequently, we assure the general public that the only loser in this wise is the out-going governor of Anambra State whose god-father has taken to another god son in the same retirement age bracket, while Anambra State craves a governor who has the drive to think and act correctly on his toes.
We implore all interest in Anambra State to appreciate the need to take firm advantage of the mood of these political times and connect to the centre o Nigeria in the vision of Owele Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe and Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu who devoted large chunks o their respective lives working or Ndigbo to be active in the mainstream Nigerian politics.
Finally, we encourage other political parties ,particularly those who returned more votes than accredited persons ,those who produced more than one candidate or the impeding polls , and those whose primaries became a theatre off violence wasting precious lives and leading to resignation of aspirants to keep trying, with the right learning attitude, until they can produce the kind of primaries done by APC, as that is a sine qua non forming good governments as APC plans to do in Anambra State next year.
As a party is run, so is the government formed by the party.
