Intrigue in APGA as Chief Oye's Faction Retake National Office from Martin Agbaso.
The conflict in the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) continues to take a new dimension as Chief Victor Oye's faction reclaims the possession of the party's national office in Abuja against the earlier possession of the party's office yesterday by Chief Martin Agbaso's faction.
Recall that yesterday evening (Thursday) at about 5pm, the National Headquarters of APGA located at No. 41B Libreville Crescent, Wuse 2, Abuja witnessed the presence of heavily armed policemen in the company of Martin Agbaso who then proceeded to break into the office, to gain entry into the headquarters of the party premises following an Order of Mandamus compelling INEC and Nigerian Police to recognise chief Agbaso as the substantive national chairman of APGA by Enugu High Court and the reaffirmation of the order by the Appeal court seating in Enugu.
Also recall that the factionof APGA led by chief Victor Oye within the last week of July secured three different high court judgments from Awka, Nnewi and Ibadan high courts that reaffirms chief Victor Oye as the authentic party national chairman.
INEC and Police are yet to make any official statement on who amongst the two faction and court judgments they are to obey even as both factions have fixed August 14th and 15th for its primary election in the forthcoming Anambra governorship election.
With this scenario and intrigue, its is obvious that the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) is set for a parallel primary election and double candidature in the forthcoming Anambra governorship election.
